Valencia with children
A short walk, a Turia break and an activity that suits your family.

A shorter old-town walk
Start at the town hall square and choose whether to reach the Central Market or continue to the Serranos Towers. There is no need to cover the whole centre at once. The market has its own opening hours: check before relying on it for lunch. The Silk Exchange and cathedral interiors are separate visits from the outdoor walk.
One stretch of the Turia, not the whole garden
The garden is long. For a manageable outing, choose an entry point, a rest stop and an exit. Gulliver is a useful landmark, but check whether the play area is open. If you continue towards the City of Arts, plan the return journey so that walking all the way back is not compulsory.
Oceanogràfic or science: pick a priority
Oceanogràfic, Museu de les Ciències and Hemisfèric offer different experiences. The first centres the day on the aquarium; the museum is an exhibition visit; Hemisfèric requires choosing a screening and time. A combined ticket only makes sense if you want its inclusions and have enough time, not simply because it contains more venues.
Make the beach a plan, not an extra
Cabanyal and Malvarrosa can be an outing of their own. Bring sun protection and water, and check local swimming conditions. A seafront walk does not require swimming or a restaurant booking. With a pushchair, plan around the promenade and treat access to the sand separately.
A backup plan and family budget
Save a wet-weather alternative before leaving: a cultural or science visit depending on your interests. Check age-based prices, evidence needed for discounts and change conditions; do not assume free admission applies to everyone. Allow for food, transport and breaks before adding another ticket.
