Our suggested walk: Plaza Mayor → Puerta del Sol → Gran Vía → Cibeles. You can walk independently; dates for the lighting displays are still to be announced. Allow a break and shorten the walk if it is crowded. This is not an official municipal or timed route.

Plaza Mayor Christmas market
Madrid Tourism announces late November to 31 December 2026. The precise opening date is still pending.
Lights, nativity scenes and ice rinks
This season’s programme is not complete. Times, routes and tickets from previous editions are not confirmed for this year.
Circo Price and Mágicas Navidades
On our research shortlist. General-public sessions at Price and the definitive Torrejón calendar still need verification.
Before you go
Choose one timed show and plan your walk around it. Check recommended ages and children’s tickets. Allow travel time for IFEMA or Ciudad Universitaria: neither is beside Plaza Mayor.
