Inside or outside?

Visiting the interiors requires a valid admission option. If you prefer a walk, plan an outdoor route through Plaza de Oriente and continue towards the Almudena. Seeing the facade is different from visiting the palace rooms.

Compare three formats

Official independent admission lets you set your pace within the visit rules. A guided tour adds explanations and a meeting time. A combined ticket may include another venue: check which one and how long you have to use it. Offers are not interchangeable.

Free access and closures

Patrimonio Nacional publishes free-admission conditions and visiting times. Check eligibility and required documents. Official events can affect visits, so read current notices before travelling and check your booking conditions.

Fit it into a walk

Our suggestion: start at Sol, walk through Plaza Mayor and reach the palace with time to spare before admission. Afterwards, take a break or continue towards the Temple of Debod. Leave a buffer before any further booking for exiting and walking to the next stop.

If you prefer a guided option

Check current availability, the final price and exactly what is included before confirming. Booking takes place on Civitatis.
