Toledo: time to explore the old town

Choose Toledo if you enjoy wandering through historic streets and squares. Plan a walk and decide which, if any, paid monuments you want to visit. Seeing a façade does not include entry to the building.

Allow for hills and paving that can slow the walk down. Leave room for a meal and the return journey rather than treating every suggested stop as essential.

Segovia: the aqueduct and a city walk

Choose Segovia if seeing the aqueduct is a priority. You can enjoy its exterior and walk through the old town without a guided tour. Monument entry, such as the Alcázar, is a separate consideration.

Decide whether your main aim is a walk or interior visits too. That helps you plan your time and compare excursion inclusions.

Independent trip or organised excursion?
