Casa Botines Gaudí Museum

Built in 1892, it is one of three Gaudí buildings outside Catalonia. Casa Botines introduces another period into the walk: Antoni Gaudí's architecture in a city with a strong medieval presence. Its popular name refers to merchant Juan Homs Botines and the business history preceding the building. First observe the whole, its corners and its relationship with the square before approaching individual details. Its monumental appearance should not obscure connections with commercial and residential uses. The museum explores that history further, but admission requires checking current visit formats and conditions. Viewing the façade does not mean access to every floor. Afterwards, compare its forms with the neighbouring Guzmanes Palace and discover two different ways of representing the city.
